Show respect even to people who don't deserve it

Respect isn’t necessarily about the person who is receiving it. It is about our own character, which is reflected by our treatment of others. It doesn’t matter what that person may have done, or whether or not you respect them as a person. The important thing is to be the bigger person and continue to treat everyone with the upmost respect. I’ve always viewed respect as something you’ve earned or something you had to work for. But, respect is something that people should inherently deserve, and something people should unconditionally give. So the next time you come into contact with someone who you may not exactly respect, try to refrain from expressing that. You see, if you want to express your emotions in a positive way, change the situation into something you refuse to be dragged down by. Showing everyone respect, whether they deserve it or not, allows you to uphold your dignity and best represent your character. ~ Brigitte Nicole

You can teach respect by showing it, setting a good example for others or our children. I taught my children how to respect their elders and others, to be polite, to use good manners and so forth. ~ Valerie Simmons

Respect everyone. Trust no one!

“I speak to everyone in the same way, whether he is the garbage man or the president of the university.” ~ Abdallah El-Terek

Throughout life people will make you mad, disrespect you and treat you bad. Let God deal with the things they do, cause hate in your heart will consume you too. ~ Sanj Chaudhary

In the military we were taught to respect the uniform because of what it stands for. Translated to everyone, it means every individual is worthy of respect, no matters their wrong doings or character. ~ Jeanette Osterman
